WORLD SICKLE CELL DAY

Amplify Survivor Voices.
Join the Movement.

Every year on June 19, communities around the world come together to recognize World Sickle Cell Day, a global observance established by the United Nations to raise awareness for sickle cell disease and the millions of individuals and families impacted by it.

While significant progress has been made in research, treatment, and advocacy, many people living with sickle cell disease continue to face barriers to quality care, delayed diagnoses, health inequities, and limited access to life-changing therapies.

At Sickle Cell Prodigy, we believe awareness must lead to action.

As the first and only nonprofit organization dedicated exclusively to supporting survivors of bone marrow transplantation and gene therapy, we are committed to ensuring that patients and care partners have the education, resources, and community support they need to navigate every stage of the transformative treatment journey.

This year, we are raising $2,500 to strengthen and expand our Survivor Database—a first-of-its-kind platform that connects individuals who have undergone bone marrow transplantation or gene-based therapies through a global survivor network. The database fosters meaningful peer connections while collecting long-term, real-world outcomes that extend beyond traditional clinical endpoints, helping to deepen our understanding of survivorship over time.

Your support will help us:

  • Protect and preserve survivor stories through secure, HIPAA-compliant data storage that safeguards patient information and long-term outcomes.

  • Expand global access by translating the Survivor Database into Spanish and French, ensuring more patients, families, and caregivers can benefit from this resource regardless of language.

  • Strengthen peer-to-peer support by connecting survivors and those considering curative therapies with trusted, lived-experience insights.

By contributing to this campaign, you are helping us build a more inclusive, accessible, and connected future for the sickle cell community—one where every survivor's story has the power to inform, inspire, and support others on their journey.

The future of sickle cell care can be shaped by science and the lived experiences of those who have walked this path. Help us raise $2,500 to preserve survivor voices, expand global access, and ensure that every patient considering a curative therapy can learn from those who came before them.
